FP&A Manager for a PE-backed service company
The challenge
Following an acquisition, our client needed an FP&A Manager to professionalise planning, reporting and business partnering. Beyond technical finance skills, the role required someone comfortable in a private equity environment where reporting structures are built and rebuilt while the business is moving.
The talent pool
We expected the profile to come from a large corporate or Big 4 FP&A function. We targeted transaction-driven advisory firms alongside high-performing FP&A environments, prioritising candidates who had built reporting structures from scratch and partnered closely with commercial stakeholders.
The outcome
The ideal candidate came from corporate finance advisory. Pace, ownership and the ability to influence senior leadership mattered more than sector familiarity. The candidate quickly established new reporting processes, strengthened forecasting accuracy and became a trusted finance partner to management.
